Delicious Homemade Double Cheeseburger Recipe - A Classic American Favorite

Delicious Homemade Double Cheeseburger Recipe - A Classic American Favorite

Ingredients:

For the Burger Patties:

- 1 pound (450g) ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat for juicier burgers)

- Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Burger Toppings:

- 4 slices of cheddar cheese

- 4 hamburger buns

- Lettuce leaves

- Sliced tomatoes

- Sliced red onions

- Pickles

- Ketchup and mustard (or your favorite condiments)

- Mayonnaise

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Grill or Skillet:** If using a grill, preheat it to medium-high heat. If using a skillet, heat it over medium-high heat.

2. Prepare the Patties: Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten it to create a thin patty. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

3. **Cook the Patties:** Place the patties on the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for about 2-4 minutes on each side, depending on your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare burgers, cook for about 2 minutes per side, and for well-done, cook for about 4 minutes per side. During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty, and cover the grill or skillet to allow the cheese to melt.

4. Toast the Buns: While the patties are cooking, split the hamburger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster.

5. Assemble the Burgers: Start with the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, a slice of red onion, and pickles.

6. Add the Patties: Once the cheese has melted on the patties, place two patties on each burger. Stack them for that double cheeseburger goodness.

7. Condiments: Spread ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise (or your preferred condiments) on the top half of the toasted buns.

8. Complete the Burgers: Place the top bun on the patties, condiment side down.

9. Serve: Your homemade double cheeseburgers are ready to be served. Enjoy them hot and fresh with your favorite sides.
