Indulge in Nutella Brioche Bread Recipe - A Sweet and Fluffy Delight

Prep Time: 2 hours 30 minutes (includes rising time)*

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 3 hours

Ingredients:

For the Brioche Dough:

- 3 1/4 cups (405g) all-purpose flour

- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar

- 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

- 1/2 cup (120ml) warm milk

- 3 large eggs

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened

For the Filling:

- 1 cup (280g) Nutella or your favorite chocolate hazelnut spread

For the Egg Wash:

- 1 egg

- 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions:

Making the Brioche Dough:

1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and sugar. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, eggs, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.

3. Add the softened butter in small pieces and knead the dough until it's smooth and elastic. This can take about 10-15 minutes. You can also use a stand mixer with a dough hook for this.

4. Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.

Assembling the Bread:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface, about 1/4 inch thick.

3. Spread a generous layer of Nutella (or chocolate hazelnut spread) over the entire surface of the dough.

4. Carefully roll up the dough tightly, like a jelly roll, into a long log. Seal the seam by pinching the edge of the dough.

5. Using a sharp knife, slice the log in half lengthwise, leaving one end uncut by about 1 inch. Then, twist the two halves together, creating a braided effect.

6. Form the twisted dough into a circle or oval shape on the prepared baking sheet.

Baking:

1. In a small bowl, whisk together an egg and a tablespoon of milk to create an egg wash.

2. Brush the egg wash over the top of the brioche bread.

3. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

4. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly on a wire rack.
